Implants consist of two main parts. The implant is made of titanium and is surgically placed in your bone at the location of your missing tooth. Once your bone has time to heal around the implant and stabilize, the crown can be placed over the implant. We can also use bridges to fill in the spaces left by missing teeth. A pontic, or artificial tooth, fills in the missing space and is held in place by crowns that are either affixed to the adjacent (abutment) teeth.
