Temporomandibular disorders occur from damage to the jaw, jaw joint, and surrounding facial muscles. Signs and symptoms of the disorder including a clicking or popping sound upon opening the mouth, migraines or soreness when waking up in the morning (due to clenching or grinding), and having the jaw lock in an open or closed mouth position. As dedicated health care professionals, we want you to know that we remain as diligent as ever in protecting the health and safety of our patients and staff. Our practice strictly adheres to and exceeds the standards for infection control by wearing personal protective gear, using hospital-grade disinfectants, practicing the latest sterilization protocols, and utilizing single-use disposable materials.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, only patients will be allowed in the office. In addition, we will require patients to wear face coverings and stay 6 feet apart while in the waiting room. Upon arrival, our staff will have patients complete a health screening questionnaire (click here to view). Patients that answer "yes" to any screening question will be asked to reschedule. We will also be taking a temperature reading to verify the absence of a fever. Any patient with a temperature of 100.4° F or higher will be asked to reschedule. Prior to dental treatment, patients will rinse with Colgate Peroxyl.

Our office is equipped with IQAir dental air purifiers that filter even the smallest and most harmful of airborne particles, including aerosols from high-speed dental procedures and tiny ultrafine particles such as viruses. IQAir's HyperHEPA filtration is tested and certified by an independent third-party lab to effectively filter 99.5% of harmful ultrafine particles down to 0.003 microns in size - the smallest particles that exist. IQAir filtration technology is achieved using only safe, proven, mechanical filtration technology, without generating dangerous ions, ozone, or UV. Our office also utilizes the IQAir extraoral suction system during dental restorative procedures. This system is designed to remove aerosols, abrasion powder, and mercury vapors during dental procedures. In addition, our office utilizes the Isolite Mouthpiece system as an intraoral suction device to reduce aerosols. Please click here to learn more.
